Spatial and Digital History Network

Chairs:

The Spatial & Digital History network is concerned with using digital methods and technologies to study the past and to analyse historical phenomena, with a special interest, but not limited to, a spatial context. These include: history and computing, digital history and digital humanities, historical Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial humanities. The network is open to exchange experience with experts and with people who are new in Digital and Spatial History and we invite you to contribute and discuss, for instance, about the following themes:

  • Textual analysis and other qualitative sources
  • Network analysis
  • European data infrastructure and integration
  • Crowdsourcing historical data
  • 3D modeling of history and heritage
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Linked data/semantic web
  • The creation, curation and dissemination of humanities digital resources
  • The future and history of digital history
  • Legal and ethical (data) issues
  • Digital archiving

We are open to collaborating with scholars in other disciplines and networks that use digital methods in their research, for example:
